Проведено сопоставление агглютинации, патологической и нормальной агрегации эритроцитов. Обсуждаются классические представления о механизмах эритроцитарной агрегации и направления их развития. Отмечены факторы, способствующие изменению взаимодействия эритроцитов, и его изменчивость, связанная с видом животных, физиологическими и патологическими процессами. Допускается компенсаторный характер умеренного возрастания размера агрегатов; описан сладж-феномен как проявление крайних случаев патологической агрегации эритроцитов.
